Dr. Drips Coffee Lounge — Ivanhoe Village

One of Orlando's most unique coffee lounge experiences, Dr. Drips leans into retro aesthetic that sets it apart from the typical indie café look. You start in one decade at the beginning of the cafe, and by the time you reach the back door, you are in a completely different time period. It’s also known for unique and refreshing flavor combinations, and it's earned a loyal local following for its creative menu and vibe-forward atmosphere. Bonus — they are open late!

Best for: A more elevated lounge experience, trying something you won't find on a Starbucks menu, and working remotely!

Framework Craft Coffee House — Mills 50

Framework is the kind of coffee shop that feels like a neighborhood secret even though it's been hiding in plain sight on Mills Avenue for years. Located in the vibrant Mills 50 District, it's known for showcasing local art, pouring vegan pastries from Valhalla Bakery, and operating on a community-first ethos where customers choose what they want to pay.

The drinks are creative and seasonal and the vibe is exactly what you want from an indie coffee shop: relaxed, unpretentious, and deeply local.

Best for: Working remotely, discovering Orlando's art scene, customers who want their coffee with a side of community.

Haan Coffee — Mills 50

If you haven't been to Haan yet, fix that immediately. Tucked into Orlando's Mills 50 neighborhood alongside boba shops and Vietnamese bakeries, Haan is a Korean-inspired specialty coffee roaster that feels like it was airlifted from Seoul's world-class coffee scene and dropped perfectly into East Colonial Drive.

The minimalist space is stunning. Think circular wood-framed windows, hanging white lanterns, colorful geometric art. But it's the menu that sets Haan apart. The Black Sesame Latte (roasted black sesame cream, whole milk, hint of salt) is unlike anything else you'll find in Orlando. The croffles — yes, croissant-waffle hybrids — are dangerously good. Expect full tables and a line most days, and know it's absolutely worth it.

Best for: Something truly different, the aesthetics, anyone who wants to feel like they're in a Seoul café without the 17-hour flight.

Stemma Craft Coffee — Downtown Orlando

Stemma is one of downtown Orlando's most beloved coffee shops, and the story behind it makes every sip better. A mother-daughter duo — Rebecca and María Blandón — opened Stemma to honor Rebecca's late father, who dreamed of opening a coffee shop with his family. They come from four generations of Nicaraguan coffee growers, and that heritage runs through everything they do.

The result is a warm, lively shop on North Orange Avenue where sustainably sourced, micro-roasted coffee meets a seriously impressive food menu (yes, the empanadas are as good as everyone says).

Best for: Downtown coffee runs, a full lunch, and business meetings.

Prairie House Coffee — Oakland & College Park

Prairie House has two locations and both are worth the trip. The original Oakland location sits inside a charming Victorian house in the small historic town of Oakland — think Gilmore Girls-core, gluten-free baked goods made entirely from scratch, locally sourced everything, and single-origin coffee that tastes like it was made with actual love.

The newer College Park roastery location has a completely different vibe — industrial warehouse meets warm wood accents, Canadian flags (the founders are Manitoba sisters), and their roasting operation happening right in the same room as your latte. Every menu item is gluten-free and mostly organic. No hydrogenated oils, no processed sugar, no shortcuts.

Best for: The Victorian house experience in Oakland, watching coffee get roasted in College Park, health-conscious coffee drinkers, and gluten-free baddies.

Filigree Coffee — Horizon West / Winter Garden

Filigree is one of Central Florida's most impressive newer coffee operations, and the setup alone makes it a destination. Nestled inside Home State Brewing in the Hamlin shopping district, the café features a La Marzocco espresso setup, manual pour-overs done with serious precision, and a seasonal menu that changes with genuine creativity.

The pastries come from Buttermilk Bakery in Winter Park (if you know, you know), the oat milk is from Devoated — a local Orlando company — and every detail has been thought through. The result is a coffee experience that feels national-caliber in a part of town that's still finding its identity. It's the kind of place that makes people drive 45 minutes just to come back.

Best for: West Orange County locals, pairing coffee with a craft beer, weekend hangs.
